Tapping & Threading

Generating flawless internal and external threads for critical automotive assemblies. From standard ISO metric pitches to custom high-vibration profiles, we deliver absolute fastening reliability at scale.

Precision Thread Generation.

In the automotive sector, components are subjected to immense mechanical stress, thermal expansion, and extreme vibration. The integrity of an entire engine block or chassis assembly often relies on the precise pitch and depth of a single threaded fastener or tapped hole.

At Annectotech LLP, threading is treated as a critical engineering discipline. Utilizing dedicated tapping attachments, thread rolling units, and specialized Traub cam setups, we generate high-strength internal and external threads with zero pitch error. Whether you require standard metric threads (M-series) or specialized fine pitches, we ensure every part secures flawlessly.

Automotive Component Threading Process

Engineered Solutions

Our Faridabad facility is equipped to handle complex threading requirements across a vast spectrum of metal grades and component geometries.

Internal Tapping

Precision cutting of internal threads for nuts, spacers, and fluid ports. We expertly manage chip evacuation to prevent thread tearing, ensuring clean, continuous internal pitches.

Blind-Hole Threading

Tapping into a bore that does not break through the component. We utilize specialized spiral-fluted taps to draw chips upward and out of the hole, preventing tool breakage and bottom-out damage.

External Thread Rolling

A cold-forming process used for high-tensile automotive bolts and axles. Rolling displaces the metal rather than cutting it, creating threads that are vastly stronger and more fatigue-resistant.

Custom & Fine Pitch

Beyond standard coarse threads, we generate ultra-fine pitches required for delicate sensor housings, electrical brass inserts, and pneumatic automotive fittings.

Form Tapping vs. Cut Tapping

We adapt our threading methodology to the physical demands of your component. Selecting the correct tapping process is critical for ensuring fastener integrity under high-vibration automotive conditions.

Cut Tapping Machining Process

Cut Tapping

Traditional threading that cuts material away to form the internal thread. This method is highly precise and ideal for hard, brittle materials like high-carbon steel and cast iron, where active chip evacuation is strictly necessary to prevent tool breakage.

Form Tapping Machining Process

Form (Roll) Tapping

A highly advanced process that displaces the metal outward to form the thread without creating any chips. The resulting material grain structure is compressed and continuous, yielding a thread with significantly higher pull-out strength. Perfect for softer, ductile alloys like Aluminum and Brass.

Threaded Automotive Parts

Our high-speed tapping operations feed directly into the supply chains of major two-wheeler and four-wheeler manufacturers.

Structural Fasteners

High-tensile MS and EN8 bolts, engine studs, and specialized chassis mounting screws designed for intense continuous vibration.

Fluid & Hydraulic Ports

Perfectly pitched internal threads for brake line junctions, fuel injector housings, and precision pneumatic adaptors.

Sensor & Electrical Fittings

Ultra-fine threaded brass inserts and aluminum housings for modern EV battery enclosures and mobility sensors.

Thread Plug and Ring Gauging Inspection

Verified Thread Integrity

A thread that visually looks correct can still fail under torque if the pitch diameter is incorrect. Our quality control floor utilizes strict mechanical gauging to verify every production batch.

  • Go/No-Go Gauging: Hourly shop-floor inspections using certified plug gauges (for internal threads) and ring gauges (for external threads).
  • Pitch Micrometers: Digital verification of the exact thread pitch diameter to prevent loosening and fastener stripping.
  • Thread Finish Inspection: Checking for torn threads, galling, or burrs that could compromise the assembly process.
