Precision Drilling

Executing flawless internal profiles, cross-holes, and deep-axis drilling for high-performance automotive parts. Utilizing specialized equipment to deliver exacting concentricity and superior surface finishes.

Beyond Surface Machining.

While our Traub automatic lathes perfectly shape the outer geometry of your automotive parts, true functionality often relies on complex internal structures. Fuel systems, transmission shafts, and hydraulic pins require internal bores that are perfectly straight, burr-free, and dimensionally exact.

At Annectotech LLP, our dedicated secondary drilling division operates advanced pillar drills, radial drills, and customized multi-spindle setups. We guarantee strict concentricity and precise Ra surface friction values for every drilled component.

Drilling Capabilities

We deploy specialized tooling setups and custom jigs to execute highly complex internal profiles required by Tier-1 OEM engine and chassis designs.

Axial & Deep Hole Drilling

Drilling perfectly straight, deep internal bores along the central axis of the turned part. Crucial for manufacturing hollow spacers, fluid transmission shafts, and lightweight EV components. We utilize advanced coolant-fed carbide drills to prevent tool deflection and ensure core accuracy.

Cross-Hole Drilling

Intersecting the main axis with perpendicular drill paths. This is essential for hydraulic pins, fuel injectors, and cotter pin holes. Our engineering team designs custom fixtures for every batch to guarantee the cross-hole intersects the absolute dead-center of the component.

Step Drilling & Countersinking

Executing multi-diameter bores in a single plunge. We manufacture specialized step-drills in-house to create perfect seating for countersunk screws, bearings, and O-rings, drastically reducing machine time while ensuring perfect concentricity between the steps.

Precision Reaming

When standard drilling cannot achieve the required surface friction or ultra-tight dimensional tolerance, we follow up with high-precision reamers. This ensures the internal wall is polished to an exact Ra value, critical for parts involving internal moving pistons or press-fit bearings.

Tooling Optimized for Alloys

Automotive metals present unique machining challenges. Mild steel can cause chip packing, while stainless steel is prone to work-hardening.

At Annectotech LLP, our operators strictly match tool geometry (point angles and helix rates) and tool material (HSS, Cobalt, or Solid Carbide) to the exact metallurgical grade of your component. Combined with high-pressure flood coolants, we guarantee extended tool life and perfectly clean bores in Brass, Aluminum, MS, and SS parts.

High Speed Steel and Carbide Drills

Custom Jigs & Fixturing

High-volume drilling is only as accurate as the fixture holding the part. We design and fabricate our own tooling setups to ensure zero variance across massive production runs.

In-House Design

Our engineering team designs 3D CAD models of the holding fixtures before any metal is cut.

Rigid Clamping

Utilizing pneumatic and mechanical toggle clamps to ensure the turned part never shifts during the drilling plunge.

Hardened Drill Bushes

All jigs feature hardened steel guide bushes to prevent tool wander and maintain perfect entry angles.

Rapid Loading

Fixtures are optimized for ergonomics, allowing operators to load and unload parts in seconds, increasing daily yield.

Bore Gauging and Inspection

Internal Metrology Verification

Verifying an internal bore is significantly more complex than measuring an outer diameter. We employ strict shop-floor metrology to ensure your internal specifications are met flawlessly.

  • Plug Gauging: Go/No-Go plug gauges are used hourly by operators to verify that internal diameters have not shrunk due to tool wear.
  • Depth Micrometers: Ensuring blind holes and stepped features meet precise depth requirements for seating components.
  • Visual Bore Inspection: Utilizing specialized lighting and scopes to inspect internal walls for scoring, chatter marks, or residual burrs.
